About me

I’m based in Islington, London with three young children, two boys and a girl, and it’s down to them that I am a doula.

My own experiences during pregnancy, birth and immediately afterwards have led me along this path.  I understand first-hand how some thoughtful preparation, relevant & reliable information along with positive emotional and practical support from the right people can make all the difference to the experience, regardless of whether it’s your first baby or your third/fourth/fifth.

I trained on the Expansive Doula Course with the amazing folks at Nurturing Birth, and am a member of Doula UK.  I am also a breastfeeding peer supporter, babywearing peer supporter and volunteer locally.  I love learning, and expanding my knowledge of all things perinatal so have regular mentoring, and actively seek to update my training whenever possible.  Most recently I’ve trained with the Active Birth Centre in Active Birth Physiology. I am insured, hold a clean UK driving licence and current enhanced DBS certificate.

In my previous professional life, I worked in operations management, specialising in travel and finance.  However, it’s offering unbiased, practical and emotional support to new parents and families, in whatever form they need, which has really lit a fire within me.

When I’m not doing ‘the baby stuff’ as it’s known in our house, or chasing after my own small people, I try to make the most of being outside, generally with a swim or a long walk with a podcast.  When opportunities arise further afield, I’m a keen skier and white-water kayaker. When it’s time to be inside, I have a love of food – reading about it, buying it, cooking it (not always successfully) and eating it.

Enough about me, now it’s your turn… what do you need?
