Birth Support
Every family is different, as is the support you might want at this key time, so my package would be tailored exactly to your needs. However, here is an overview of what I offer…
We’d begin by establishing our relationship and working out what you as individuals feel would be most beneficial to you. So, once our arrangement is confirmed, we’ll ideally have at least two 2-hour antenatal preparation sessions where we can get to know each other and work through your thoughts so far. (More about these conversations here - we can also arrange additional sessions as a bolt on should there be more you’d like to cover.)
Following on from these and alongside my unconditional support for you to feel safe, confident and powerful in your birth experience, you can also expect:
phone, email and text/whatsapp support throughout your pregnancy and the first few weeks afterwards;
signposting to relevant information and resources, and a selection of pregnancy and birthing books available to borrow;
on-call 24/7 for you from 38 weeks until your baby is born;
continuous support for you and your partner throughout your birth - we’ll explore what this would look like during our antenatal preparation conversations;
a postnatal visit to debrief your birth, offer support with feeding and see how things are going so far (additional postnatal support can be added on, further information here).
Hiring a doula for your birth (or any other point really) is a very personal choice. Let’s have a chat, explore things further and see if I might be the right doula for you and your family.
