Postnatal Support

The first weeks, and months after your baby is born can be some of the most exciting, joyful, and fun.  They can also be somewhat daunting, intense and exhausting, not to mention one hell of an emotional rollercoaster!

During this time, I can offer practical and emotional support, centred entirely on the individual needs of you and your new family, so you can navigate your postnatal recovery and transition into parenthood feeling nurtured, nourished and confident.

I will listen unconditionally and without judgement or agenda.  Armed with a cuppa and some cake, holding space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings around your birth, the postpartum period - and reflect on anything else which comes up for you at this time.

Depending on your thoughts and preferences, I can also offer:

  • time for yourself - I can look after your baby for short periods giving you the opportunity to rest, have a shower, eat a meal (with both hands!), go for a walk;

  • an extra pair of hands - help with some of the practical household stuff which can often pile up…a bit of tidying, sticking a wash on, filling the dishwasher, a food shop, preparing a meal;

  • support and encouragement with things like baby care, feeding, first trips out, handling a partner’s return to work – building your confidence in trusting your instincts and finding your own parenting style;

  • signposting to helpful information, resources, community groups and more specialist help if needed;

  • phone, email and text/Whatsapp support throughout the time I’m supporting you;

  • a postnatal preparation session during your pregnancy as an opportunity to establish our relationship and look at what support you feel would be beneficial to have in place from the start.

Everyone has different needs at different times, so please do get in touch and we can discuss your thoughts together.
